The Emsworth Open

Last weekend, the cold arena of the Emsworth Polo Ground was heated up with the Emsworth Open, sponsored by Heligroup. The tournament for up to 10-goal teams is the most important tournament of the Winter season for the Berkshire club.

The final was played last Sunday between Heligroup (Romilla Arber, Joe Arber and Max Charlton) and Ojo Caliente (Ana Escobedo, James Mann and Jonny Good), and was decided with a great comeback from Heligroup, who ended up winning 16-15. As Charlton summarized for CLICKPOLOUK: “We were losing all the way until the last chukker. Then we came from 5 goals down to win thanks to Joe’s winning goal.”

The subsidiary had Amos (Jenn Sponer, Chino Leiva and Nico San Román) defeating Harum Scarum (Jonathan Hare, Heiko Voelker and Ryan Pemble) 18-16. An exhibition match between Four Quarters Orange (Simon Arber, Richard Le Pour and Tom Morley) and Regal Warriors (Charlotte Christodoulou, Nico San Román and Adolfo Casabal) was also held, which Arber's team managed to win by 16-15.

The Emsworth Open is a new 10 goal tournament for 2018. Emsworth Polo Grounds would like to give a huge thanks to the tournaments partners: Heligroup UK, Cliveden House, Jean Boucton and Blackhound Sports.
